Come celebrate the last two days that COMPANY will be
opened to the public at Art in General! This Friday
the 18th and Saturday the 19th from Noon to 6pm
COMPANY artist K8 Hardy will be offering consultations
on a sliding scale at the shop.
As part of Hardy’s product line, Advertisement,
Performance, Authenticity and Style, she will accept
consultation drop-ins and schedule appointments.
These meetings will be completely honest and private,
and include a complimentary Diet Coke. She is
available to discuss anything embarrassing or uncool,
or possibly questions regarding how cool something is,
making sure to note that “You will not be consulted
by my personal standards, but rather what I perceive
to be all the varying factors and concerns you have in
your life and presentation.” Her clients will receive
a ticket from the consultation for their future
reference.
There will also be clearance sales on merchandise.
Some products include Performance Underwear
(accompanied by a one-of-a-kind video of K8 in
respective drawers), gingerbread women, arms, 5:00
shadows, felt thoughts, and canvassed books.
COMPANY is a functioning, nomadic everything shop
created by Fawn Krieger and inspired by Claes
Oldenburg’s The Store (1961). The interior as well as
the products and services it offers are designed and
constructed by artists. COMPANY imagines a stage in
which the consumer becomes a performer, and where the
drama of commercial space exposes the exchanged roles
of subject and object. COMPANY is private space made
public, where models of trust and value are
materialized through exchange, shifts in scale,
textures of attention, and shades of gray. In the
moment when desire compels our bodies to move, is it
possession we’re after, or company?
COMPANY located at Art in General, 79 Walker Street,
between Broadway and Lafayette, one block south of
Canal Street, and can be reached by taking the 1,
A-C-E, N-Q-R-W, or 6 train to Canal Street.
Next Stop: Hamptons Cottages & Gardens 2008 Idea
House. A line of COMPANY will be produced for the
laundry room, showcasing a wide array of laundering
products, namely of the black market variation.

Over the past few months (as many of you already know, and as Jacqueline previously posted) we’ve been asking our friends to draw Garfield from memory. This is an ongoing project. Here are the first twenty-six. Thanks to everyone that participated.

There’s a party this upcoming Thursday (April 17) for Print Magazine’s 2008 New Visual Artist issue. Phil and I are honored to have been featured as two of their 20 under 30 upcoming talents. Here’s the flier. Everyone should go to this. It’ll be a blast, and we’re preparing some treats to give away.

Phil an I borrowed Tim’s van yesterday to pick up a flat file for our studio. Here are two photos I took from the passenger side.
Apparently it is illegal if commercial van’s don’t have their company name and address on the door in letters atleast three inches tall.
